This summer I spent 2 weeks in Bariloche Argentina at SASS which is an acronym for South American Summer Sessions. The first week was spent shooting with Smith Optics for next seasons catalog. We took advantage of sunny days and got the product shots out of the way so we could build some hip features and really get into the fun. The Smith crew was myself, Elena Hight, Scotty Lago, and Tatum Monod.

The hip Session was a highlight of my southern travels.
Argentina is one of my favorite places to ski during the North American Summer. The mountain is massive and having guides like Skyler Holgate, Tony Pavlantos, Chris Coulter and Michelle Parker to show me around the mountain was a huge perk of hanging with the SASS crew. The best day of the trip was hands down the hip session, getting to session with so many talented kids was awesome, I really hope to make it down to South America next season, and maybe even stay a little longer.

Just Touring with the Argentinian Army, I don’t have a gun, only a beacon shovel and probe.
hris Bentchetler really put together a great ski this year, my favorite graphic ever!
Another really great part of the camp was getting to shoot with some of their media crew. They have some great opportunities for young photographers, I was lucky to work with Tyler Sawyer who shot photos all session and got this great shot of the Space camp Tee with my Bentchetlers. Make sure to check out all the Media at the SASS homepage, and see why its worth it to travel to the southern hemisphere to ski the Patagonia!
